IMPLEMENTING THE “1C:ERP ENTERPRISE MANAGEMENT 2” SYSTEM: PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS

Relevance. The issue of ERP systems implementation in large and medium-sized business has been rel- evant for several decades. Moreover, its importance increases with years, as ERP systems are widely used not only in production, but also in agriculture, construction, instrument making, metal-processing and oth- er sectors of the economy. The purpose of this research is to develop practical recommendations to improve the ERP systems implementation in large and medium-sized businesses.
Materials and methods. Research methods: observation, induction, deduction, analysis, generalization of previously obtained research results. Theoretical basis of the research: scientific literature on manage- ment accounting, scientific publications on business process management, scientific and practical articles on the ERP systems implementation and use in various business activities.
Results. To achieve this goal, advantages and disadvantages of using ERP systems were analyzed, typical reasons for the unsuccessful implementation of ERP systems were identified, and potential risks arising while transferring to an integrated management system were identified and analyzed. Based on the research results, recommendations have been developed to follow when choosing an ERP system and for selecting specialists involved in the ERP systems implementation. A number of activities related to preparation for the transition to a new automated control system are proposed.
Practical significance of the research. The article may be useful for managers of organizations, which have decided to opt for an ERP system, but have not yet chosen a specific software product. The information in the article about the most common ERP systems in the Russian Federation, as well as links to sources con- taining detailed information regarding ERP-class systems, will help to identify the most appropriate option for the company. The proposed recommendations will prevent from a number of mistakes made by compa- ny management when choosing specialists involved in the implementation of automated control systems
