Purpose. Based on a comparative analysis, to analyze socio-political and historical situations of the late XVI – early XXI centuries in the Ural Federal District and identify factors and trends in public administration, which caused modern demographic situation from the perspective of declared aspects.
Methods. The method of comparative analysis of the demographic situation in the Ural Federal District
in different historical periods, static and bibliometric methods for studying historical sources to determine the causes of a modern demographic crisis were used in the research.
Results. The current demographic crises in the modern RF constituent entities of the Ural Federal District are revealed to be due to the identified historical specific feature of public administration - development of cities around the resources and mining areas, which affected the uneven demographic development in the Kurgan, Sverdlovsk and Chelyabinsk regions.
Scientific novelty lies in theoretical justification of the classification of public administration of demo-graphic processes in the Urals Federal District from the late XVIth century to the present day and in identification from the perspective of socio-political and historical aspects of factors and trends in public administration, which were the reasons for the current demographics in the Ural Federal District.
